MINISTRY DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the Media Ministry at The V-Center is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our visually-driven, ever changing world through the use of technology and media, and to equip other ministries of the church to use digital and electronic media as a worship and outreach tool. This ministry not only provides the technical support required for our worship services, but also records various events, teachings and sermons, which are made available on our website and social media outlets.

MINISTRY MISSION

The ministry’s mission is to glorify God by ensuring that His Word and our praise and song to Him is seen and heard clearly and without distraction or interference within our local church and throughout the world as it’s broadcasted or distributed on media with the highest video, audio, and production quality available.

MINISTRY OUTLINE

Although this ministry covers all local church needs that have to do with audio and visual technology, the most requested and needed functions of the ministry include:

  • Broadcasting live audio and video to the worship center and internet.

  • Recording audio and video during regular church services and special events.

  • Audio and video editing or recorded services and other special events for archive, broadcast,

  • and production.

  • Sermon messages and other special events.

  • Providing audio and video support for evangelistic outreach and other special events outside of the church building.

It does not mean you have to start out knowing anything about A/V, just have a learning attitude and a willingness to be lead. Volunteers will be trained for any specific technological skill or knowledge required for the ministry responsibilities, so the only prerequisite to volunteering is a willingness to learn and comfort in handling and using technological devices and equipment. Needed roles include:

Directors (Developing Phase) - The director is in charge of recording the worship service. He or she will instruct the camera operators over headphones and chooses which camera will be recorded or sent to the screens during the service. • We request that your attendance in worship service be on a weekly basis and serve at least once a month.

  • Be in place 30 minutes prior to worship service begins

  • Be attentive to the service order and elements within the service, contributing to excellence within the service itself.

Helpful Hints

  • Remember that the Media Team is a ministry area-everything done within it should be to glorify our Lord and Savior.

  • Don’t panic! If something goes wrong or gets out of order, just remember: IT HAPPENS.

  • Be aware of cues given from the pulpit area (i.e. if the worship leader does the chorus one too many times, or the speaker reads a passage of scripture again-roll with it!)
